The HELA Research Co-op: A new model for live event research
The Healthy Ears, Limited Annoyance (HELA) Research Cooperative (Co-op), part of the broader HELA Initiative, launched in January 2026. The HELA Research Co-op aims to unite experts across the fields of engineering, health, physics, architecture, computer science, public policy, music, psychology and beyond to facilitate interdisciplinary research that addresses health and wellbeing at live events. By fostering collaboration between academia, industry and external stakeholders, the Co-op seeks to develop solutions that enhance both on-site and off-site wellbeing, improve audience and staff experiences and nurture symbiotic relationships with local communities. This webinar will introduce the Co-op and provide details on how to get involved, including what funding will be available to support research over the next two years.
